Janet White Money Bomb

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Janet White here, candidate for Otero County Commissioner, District 1.  I'm sending you this message to ask for your support and your vote in the upcoming November election.

As a concerned citizen, I have regularly attended Otero County Commission meetings for the past 8 1/2 years. As in most governments, special interests have far too much influence and ordinary voters and taxpayers have far too little voice in the decisions about how our county is administered.  I see an urgent need for new faces, new ideas and new solutions.  Otero County government needs to open its doors to public scrutiny of its plans and decisions BEFORE votes effecting all its citizens are taken, not after.

My reason for running for this office is simple. I want my County to serve its citizens, not the vested special interest groups. I want honest, open, ethical leadership that operates within its means without burdening its citizens with higher taxes to fund ever-expanding governmental programs.

I refuse to bore you with a bunch of "pie-in-the-sky" promises of what I will or will not do if elected. All I can promise is that I will honestly and ethically serve the citizens of Otero County to the best of my ability and will NOT vote to raise your taxes. Governments, like people, must live within their means. When governments borrow to finance their activities, guess who gets to pick up the tab? YOU!

If the idea of supporting a candidate who is willing to work on your behalf for honest, ethical, limited government appeals to you, NOW is the time to step up and support my campaign. Your campaign contributions will be used to print signs and fund campaign mailings and advertising. Early voting starts in less than a month.

To your right you will find Pay Pal for credit cards.  Just click and donate.

Or, mail checks to Committee to Elect Janet White at post office address in the right column.

Thank you,
Janet White

This is what happens when elected officials mix personal and official business ...

Tax payers paid $ 1.44 Million for this and around $ 150,000 to repave lots since purchase.  Now it has to be enlarged? It is on the Otero County Agenda for 9/11/14:

5. Request approval to consider an addition to the Administration Annex Building and relocate the Assessor's office basement occupants. Submitted by: Ronny Rardin

The parking spaces were already deficient.  The County had to get a variance from the City to get certificate of occupancy because of parking shortage.
Word on the street is no escape in event of fire for basement dwellers and they have complained of getting sick working down there since they moved in.

This was a remodel to County specifications and in four years it is not big enough?  Wonder if the sand bags came with or we had to pay extra?
