Friday I had the honor of being accompanied on my door-to-door campaign by a friend from Iowa. He is a Vietman Vet and was on his way to Columbus, New Mexico for the October border watch of the Minutemen.

I keep thinking about the oath of enlistment he took when drafted. It is the same oath my son (Navy), and your sons and daughters, took upon entering the U.S. Military.

"I, (state your name), do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same......"

How can we sleep at night if we are not doing our level best to do the same, every day and in every way? I am so grateful to have been born in this great country. We have been blessed with all the resources we need to make it a better place.

First, do no harm.

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Get out and vote for a better Otero County.
